2021 Honda Odyssey: Upgraded For A New Decade

January 16th, 2024 by

America’s most popular minivan has been in production in North America since the mid-90’s and has since seen five generations of facelifts, improvements, and technological advancements. Honda made it clear that their absolute top priority was protecting you and your passengers. Throughout the years, the Odyssey was awarded the prestigious top safety pick by the IIHS multiple times. With additions throughout the years such as a rear view camera in 2013, a forward crash structure upgrade in 2014, and an entire safety feature upgrade in 2018, it is no surprise that now in 2021 the Honda Odyssey is more equipped and more advanced than ever before.

The classic look of the Honda Odyssey is a thing of the past with the newly restyled 2021 model interior and exterior. The exterior still screams “classic family vehicle” but is much leaner and meaner than its 2020 predecessor. A restyled front-end changes from the 2020 stainless steel expanded grille to a broadened and lengthened matte black finish. The new grille plus new, narrowed lighting altogether in a tight frame gives the entire front end a much cleaner look. A new series of lines and contours perfectly tie the front and the rear of the vehicle together with a more aggressive look.

The interior of the newest Honda Odyssey is where we see the big changes. A new generation of technology and luxury for this particular model, and once again Honda wows audiences everywhere with the amount of available features poured into it. Apart from the base trim, the Odyssey gets a massive 8-inch touch screen embedded in its widened center console. Featuring Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, it is easier than ever to stay in touch while you’re on the go. Available on the higher end trims is a rear-seat entertainment package, so even the little ones can handle even the longest distances.

The Honda Odyssey boasts the quietest cabin in its class, but some of its most exciting cabin features are brand new this year. MagicSlide technology allows its middle row of seats nearly free movement to make space, they slide both side to side and forward and aft. This new technology enables a wealth of configurations for the interior of the car, and combined with a stowable third row of seats the interior can be completely transformed for nearly any amount of cargo. One of the most notable features is the industry first CabinWatch and CabinTalk systems, so you can keep an eye on everyone in the vehicle without having to take your eyes off the road.

The 2021 Honda Odyssey has five different trims, each more exciting than then next and all with a completely reasonable price point. Different options in safety cameras and optics earned the 2021 model the highest ratings with the IIHS, its 3.6L engine with variable cylinder management technology will have you forgetting that you’re driving a three-row minivan. Hitting the showrooms in late 2020, this year’s model is destined to be one of the best versions to date for the Odyssey.
