Honda has developed exceptional safety systems and continues to innovate to keep passengers safe in their vehicles. Honda Sensing is an exclusive platform with a suite of systems to assist the driver and protect everyone inside. Check out these technologies in a new or used Honda vehicle.
This system helps improve response time when a possible collision is detected. As fast as a human response might be, the system can often react even faster. This system applies pressure to the brakes when a situation occurs in front of the vehicle. For instance, a vehicle turns in front of you at the last minute. This system will apply the brakes to help you stop before hitting the other car.
This system monitors your driving and the lanes to tell if you start to drift into another lane. If it detects that you have started to cross the lane without using a signal, it will adjust the steering and brake to help you move back into your correct lane. You can also use this system as a reminder if you forget to use the signal when you intend to switch lanes.
Cruise control has long been a favorite feature of drivers, especially those who travel on major highways. Adaptive cruise control works even better by adjusting the speed to maintain a set distance behind other vehicles. Instead of the driver braking and resetting the speed, the system makes the adjustment for you. Once the vehicle moves out of the lane or traffic is clear, the system will return to your predetermined speed.
You can use this system to help you stay in the middle of your lane even when you’re going around a curve. It will alert you if the vehicle gets too close to the edge of the lane and adjust the steering to keep you on course.
As you’re traveling down backroads or country lanes, it can be easy to miss the posted speed limit and know when to slow down or speed up. This system notifies the driver of a change in speed by reading the speed limit signs through a small camera.
When you signal to turn right, the camera located on the passenger mirror will automatically turn on to show live video. The result is a clearer picture that is up to four times more than what you would see in the mirror itself.
As you start to turn and use your signal, the system will let you know if a vehicle is in the lane beside you. The signal indicator will blink while an audible beep sounds until you turn off the signal or the vehicle moves away
This system works when you have the vehicle in reverse. You will hear a beep and indications on the camera display if a vehicle moves behind you from the side. This allows you to stop and wait for it to pass to avoid a collision.
This system will automatically switch between high and low beams when you drive at night over 25 mph. Automatically dimming the lights with oncoming traffic can avoid blinding the other driver. Resetting the lights back to high beam when traffic is clear improves your vision at night to avoid accidents.
Honda Sensing comes standard on many Honda models. You can find out more and try out these systems with a test drive at Premier Honda.
